Hubei Minkang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. is a Singapore wholly foreign-owned enterprises. The large-scale pharmaceutical venture mainly produces and markets Traditional Chinese medicines. In December 2003, the venture passed the national GMP certification and received recognition as a high-tech enterprise from the Municipal Council for Science and Technology of Yichang.
The company is located in Yichang city-a city where the world-famous Three Gorges join the Yangtze River Project is carried out, and adjacent to the well-known Gezhou Dam Hydroelectric Power Plant. There are 640 staff members in our company, over 300 specialized technical personnel and 30 of them are licensed pharmacists.
The history of the company can be traced back to as long as 100 years when “Xing Sheng xiang” (well-known for many years in eastern Sichuan and western Hubei) medicinal material shop and Shanghai Fee’s (Private) Pharmaceutical Factory operated as its predecessors. We have the capability of producing more than 10 medicament forms of Chinese and western preparation as Tablets, Capsules, Palletized Granules, Pills, Oral Solution, Mixtures, Syrup and Injections. Among the 154 permits for pharmaceutical manufacturing, 85 of them are listed in the Basic Administration Catalogue for Medicine, 97 in Administration Catalogue for Overall Social Medical Insurance and 63 for OTC. The state government protects three of them whereas two techniques have been granted patent rights by the same.
The ‘Minkang’ brands have been commented as being a well-known brand consecutively for four years in Hubei. The concentrated Biyuan pills have won a national silver medal. In 2003, the Vitamin C Yinqiao tablets were approved by the FDA of US and entered the US market with OTC status. This is the first time for a China Pharmaceutical product being brought to US with OTC status. Besides US, our products are marketed to Japan, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong and other countries and regions.
The ‘Minkang’ Traditional Chinese medicines have enjoyed a high reputation in the domestic market as well as foreign markets. The company has also being conferred the ‘Foreigner Owned Enterprise with Double Excellency’ title.
